8 days beginning and ending in Kampala: Lose yourself in this 8-day Ugandan lodge experience, which will both refresh and excite you. From standing on the equator to enjoying the late African sunset as water laps against your canoe on Lake Mburo; this experience is sure to stay with you.
This is a small group, no participation lodge safari with all nights accommodated in permanent tented camps or lodges.

Accommodation: For this accommodated safari, we make use of mid-range lodge accommodation. Your accommodation is situated either in National Parks, on the banks of a river, or in other places of interest. The accommodation will be a mix of lodges, chalets and permanent tented chalets with en-suite facilities. Some properties are equipped with swimming pools and/ or bar areas.

Day 1: Kampala - Lake Mburo National Park [D] After arrival in Kampala on the early morning flight, freshen up and have a meal after which we then immediately drive south westwards, with a stop at the equator to Lake Mburo National Park. This is the only park in Uganda with an entire lake, from which it receives its name. We do a game drive on the way to the lodge followed by a canoe ride on Lake Mburo in the evening Accommodation: Mantana Tented Camp or similar
Day 2: Lake Mburo – Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park [BLD] After an early morning game drive we depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The park derives its name from its thick vegetation with an immense variety of evergreen trees, festooned with lianas, epiphytes, which reach great heights in their search for sunlight and is known to host half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Accommodation: Silverback Lodge or similar
Day 3: Bwindi GORILLA TRACKING [BLD] GORILLA TRACKING - this is it, this is the day you have been waiting for! Get up for an early breakfast and off you go on your adventure after the gorillas. Imagine venturing closer than 5 metres to these primates. It won’t be easy, but it certainly will be worth it. Accommodation: Silverback Lodge or similar
Day 4: Bwindi – Queen Elizabeth National Park [BLD] After breakfast we depart to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. We drive through the Ishasha region of the park famous for its tree climbing lions before we proceed to the lodge for check-in and leisure time before dinner. Accommodation: Kingfisher Lodge (Kichwamba) or similar
Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park [BLD] After an early breakfast, we depart for a morning game drive in the Queen Elizabeth National Park. During the heat of midday, we stop to enjoy our packed lunch and a rest before we continue on an afternoon game drive followed by a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Afterwards we return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation: Kingfisher Lodge (Kichwamba) or similar
Day 6: Queen Elizabeth NP – Kibale Forest National Park [BLD] For the early risers there will be an optional bird walk this morning. After breakfast, we depart for Ndali Lodge and Kibale Forest where we arrive for lunch. The afternoon is spent at your leisure or take a walk around the Crater Lake, with an option to swim, fish etc. Accommodation: Primate Lodge (Forest Cottages) or similar
Day 7: Kibale Forest National Park [B] An early morning walk in the Kibale Forest is spent tracking the habituated chimpanzees which are the major attraction in this national park. These delightful and sociable apes are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in the trees as they are more closely related to humans than any other living creature. Navigating the network of shady forest trails provides much delight to botanists and butterfly lovers, while birders are in for a treat with 335 species recorded. In the afternoon, we take a walk through the Bigodi Swamps before returning to the lodge. Accommodation: Primate Lodge (Forest Cottages) or similar
Day 8: Kibale Forest – Kampala [B] After a leisurely breakfast, we return to Kampala in time for your evening homeward flight.

Inclusions & Exclusions
Included in the TOTAL price: 7 Nights in lodges / permanent tented camps with en-suite bathrooms as per itinerary, all transport in a fully equipped safari vehicle, game drives and activities as per the itinerary, meals as mentioned in the itinerary, park entrance fees, experienced & registered local guide.
Not included in the price: Flights and airport taxes, travel insurance, pre and post tour accommodation, all drinks, tips, curios & items of a personal nature, expenses for taking photos, watching dances or attend special ceremonies where applicable.
Transport Fully equipped customized 12-seater 4x4 safari vehicles, Toyota Land Cruisers or other appropriate vehicles with comfortable seating, large windows for game viewing and a music system are being used. The vehicles are equipped with pop-up roofs to facilitate the best game viewing. All luggage, besides hand luggage and photo equipment, is carried on the vehicle roof rack or trailer to ensure maximum comfort in the vehicle.
Travelling Times and Distances All travelling times are affected by road conditions, detours and weather conditions, therefore on certain days travelling times may be longer than anticipated especially where there is a lot of distance to be covered. Please keep in mind that the time it takes to travel 100 km in your home country is not equivalent to the time it takes to travel 100 km on African roads, therefore we encourage you to sit back and enjoy the spectacular scenery Africa has to offer. Where possible additional stops will be made to ensure your travelling comfort at all times.

Spending money Clients are advised to bring enough money to cover the purchase of curios, tips for the guide and additional entertainment. US Dollars and Ugandan Shilling are the most practical and convenient currencies.
Meals Breakfast and dinner will be prepared by the lodge where you are staying. They will also prepare lunch or a lunch pack depending on the itinerary for the day. Please advise us of any special dietary requirements in advance.
First Aid Our guides are trained in basic first aid and the vehicle is equipped with a medical aid kit. Preventative Malaria medication should be taken before the trip and throughout its duration and it is advisable to consult a doctor prior to departure. Yellow Fever vaccinations are compulsory – please contact your Travel Clinic before departure.
Luggage Maximum baggage allowance: 12 kg. luggage allowance, as an overloaded vehicle is a danger to both the clients and the guide. This does not include photographic equipment and a small daypack. Please bring soft-sided luggage (e.g. a backpack or soft barrel bag), not a suitcase. Don't bring too much clothing, as there are washing opportunities along the way. Please adhere to the allowance specified as space for luggage is limited.
Insurance It is compulsory for all travellers to have insurance covering their personal requirements, medical expenses and personal possessions. This is to be arranged before leaving your home country. Your SA Tours & Safaris consultant will be able to assist you
Visas The onus is on the client to organize all visas required to visit Uganda, prior to departure.
