More than a century of continuous conservation has ensured that wildlife flourishes in , much the same as it has over the past millennia. This unspoiled, well-loved Park’s striking feature is an immense seasonal salt pan of more than 1 900 square miles set in almost 8 500 square miles of gracious African savannah and dry woodland. This is home to more than 110 species of mammals, and of reptiles; and almost 400 species of birds; and it offers one of Africa’s greatest and most accessible safari experiences.
Highlights - The heart-stopping roaring of lions and eerie call and response of jackals in an authentic and beautiful African wilderness; as well as special sightings of desert-adapted antelopes such as gemsbok and the endemic black-faced impala. - Big-game viewing of lion, leopard, hyena, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, black and white rhino, as well as the many smaller and fascinating species. - Incredible concentrations of graceful plains animals congregating at the waterholes alongside Etosha Pan including zebra, wildebeest and springbok.
Day One- Departing Swakopmund You depart from Swakopmund at 07h30 and head out for Okahandja. You travel through Otjiwarongo and stop at Outjo for lunch (for guest’s own account). Here you will possibly meet other guests already travelling on the Northern Odyssey and Etosha Safari tours.
Day One The journey continues to the Etosha National Park, Namibia's premier game viewing destination. Arrive in the early afternoon for your first game drive in the touring vehicle. (open vehicle game drive is optional and for own account). Leave the park before sunset and arrive at your safari camp or lodge outside the park for dinner.
Day Two Today you head into Etosha National Park for a full day game viewing adventure (open vehicle game drives are optional and for own account). Enjoy the herds of zebra and springbok scattered across the plains, and you could be lucky to spot an endangered black rhinoceros, lion or elephant at one of the water spots. Spend the day exploring the many waterholes dotted along the edge of the pan, with a stop for lunch at one of Etosha's shady rest camps (for guest’s own account). You leave the park just before sunset and travel back to the lodge for dinner.
Day Three Today promises more game viewing adventures and another opportunity for spotting the animals you missed yesterday. Spend the day exploring Etosha National Park with a stop for lunch (for guest’s own account) and some shady relief at one of the rest camps. Leave the park just before sunset and head back to the lodge for dinner.
Day Four At 08h00 you check out and begin your journey south towards Windhoek. We may stop at Otavi, centre of Namibia’s maize growing region, to drop off guests who opt to join the Caprivi tour. Continue the journey via Otjiwarongo, where you stop for lunch (for guest’s own account), continuing on to Okahandja and some last minute shopping for souvenirs at the craft market. The drive continues to Windhoek, where your tour ends on arrival at around 17h30.
Day One, Day Two - Etosha Safari Camp Etosha Safari Camp is conveniently situated just 10 kilometres from world-renowned Etosha National Park. Perched on a small hill, each uniquely designed en-suite safari-bungalow promises comfort at all times. Beds are covered with spacious mosquito nets and the gauzed windows provide optimal air circulation. Meals are served in a rustic farm style restaurant at the foot of the hill and here you can also refresh yourself in the swimming pool, make use of the internet cafe or enjoy one of the walking trails that surround the camp. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Day Three - Mokuti Etosha Lodge, This luxury safari lodge is just 2 kilometres from the Eastern entrance of Etosha National Park and is set in its own adjoining private reserve. Accommodation is in spacious rooms with African-inspired décor, en suite facilities, a sitting room, private veranda and modern conveniences. The lodge offers excellent dining experiences in both the restaurant and under the stars in the boma. There are two bars where you can enjoy sundowners or a nightcap. Relax around the sparkling swimming pool or get some exercise on one of the 2 floodlit Tennis courts situated in the bush. The lodge also offers a Fitness Centre and luxury Spa.
